Our Technology

At the core of our mission is advancing the science behind sepsis, and transitioning this into reliable clinical intervention tools.

InflammAid is working on several such technologies, including polymer nanoparticles that target the source of the infection, a rapid computational tool that offers insight into sepsis progression simply using a patient’s vital signs, and a more cost-effective filtration device for bacterial toxins found in pharmaceutical solutions.

Our research focuses on leveraging the intersections of chemistry, biology, and computer science to pinpoint and develop strategies addressing all stages of sepsis intervention: prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

By taking a point-of-care, synthetic approach to infectious disease, we are also able to target the effects of gram-negative bacteria, a group of microorganisms known for their growing resistance to antimicrobial agents, and mitigate the overuse of antibiotics that may promote resistant species of bacteria.
